This year Šiauliai celebrated its 788th birthday and one of the opening events was a pedestrian procession and motorised motorcade for the city's residents and guests.

 

Such a festive parade through the streets of the city is a long-standing tradition, which is also cherished by the VU Šiauliai Academy. This year, lecturers, professors, staff and students adorned themselves with the Academy's attributes, handed out sweet gifts to passers-by and entertained the townspeople with cheerful slogans. In total, around 6000 participants from various educational institutions, companies and organisations took part in this year's walk.
