On 26 February, Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy hosted an extraordinary event/action. Economics students pitched the business idea "Sweet stress".
The idea of this business was to offer the academy community different pastries and coffees every day. This exercise was part of the lecture material, so the students were learning how to test whether the business idea is profitable and marketable.
That is why a campaign was organised where students set up a space in the lobby of the VU Šiauliai Academy's Teacher Training Centre where they could taste coffee and delicious home-baked cookies, cakes and other sweets. Those who enjoyed the treats were invited to donate money of their own choice and to fill in a special questionnaire to help the students assess whether such a business idea would be necessary and beneficial for the whole community.
Within a few hours, the baked goods were snatched up and the students raised 120 euros, which not only covered the costs but also went to a charity to take the money to a homeless animal shelter.
